We’ve been gushing and salivating over international Fall 2015 designer collections since mid February and now it’s time to focus on our domestic talent. World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto had Canadian designers showing off their stunning  ensembles. As years go on, Canadians designers are making their mark and demonstrating that they can make it on the international scene.

Take for instance, Mikhael Kale’s dreamy, pastel-infused collection or Malorie Urbanovitch’s mixture of fabric and colour. There’s no question that these looks can rank with the best in the world. Pink Tartan debuted a sleek collection with urban undertones, a little leather and plenty to love.

Here are some of our favourite outfits from Toronto Fashion Week!

Award season is officially over and I know more than a few of you just released a large sigh of relief. That said, we had a good run this year. The Golden Globe Awards were certainly the best for entertainment value, but nothing can compare to Oscar night. It had everything you expected – glitz, glamour, drama, breathtaking performances and, you know, a few awards to give out.

Congrats to all the winners and huge shout out to Best Supporting Actress winner Patricia Arquette who put feminism ahead of her award. You rock, lady!!

But we can’t celebrate this year’s Oscar awards without mentioning the fashion. It’s important to note that you can #AskHerMore while she looks damn fine in her gown. Here are some of our favourites:

Retro-glamour took centre stage at New York Fashion Week for the unveiling of the Fall/Winter 2015 collections. From hair and makeup featuring red lips and pompadour to structured ladylike silhouettes bringing back fond memories of the 1930s and 1940s.

Get ready for winter white and creamy beiges. Oscar de la Renta and Badgley Mischka offered stunning shades of ecru. At Custo Barcelona, Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler there was a delicate mashing of prints and fabrics. These seemingly mismatched prints work perfectly together and will help you re-imagine the possibilities of your wardrobe.

Toronto Fashion Week Wrap Up

By Diana   |    October 27, 2014 9:00 am    |   Best Dressed, Canadian, Events, Fashion News, Style, The Peacock Parade Blog, Toronto Seen, Trend Watch, WMCFW   |    off

Is it just me or does World MasterCard Fashion Week get better season after season? I was so impressed with the spring/summer 2015 collections that I really couldn’t choose which one was my favourite. I loved the fringe fest at Mackage that offered black and white ensembles (many in leather, of course) with splashes of cobalt and vibrant pink. The stellar Narces collection was out of a fairy tale featuring dreamy cocktail dresses and gowns. Pink Tartan took a cue from 1970s glam – think Studio 54 and Jerry Hall. Matthew Gallagher offered original shapes in luxe fabrics. Needless to say, this will be the WMCFW to top. And believe me, we can’t wait until next season.

Here’s a snippet of our favourite looks from WMCFW spring/summer 2015:

Canadian fashion label Narces is synonymous with femininity and glamour. Designer Nikki Wirthensohn is at the helm of the label and creates stunning cocktail dresses and evening wear that has become the go-to for fashionable Canadian women. Narces recently debuted its spring/summer 2015 collection at World MasterCard Fashion Week to rave reviews from media and industry folks. The collection was breathtaking from start to finish. Incorporating luxe fabrics and pastels, Narces’ collection has been one of the best of the week.
