Retro-glamour took centre stage at New York Fashion Week for the unveiling of the Fall/Winter 2015 collections. From hair and makeup featuring red lips and pompadour to structured ladylike silhouettes bringing back fond memories of the 1930s and 1940s.

Get ready for winter white and creamy beiges. Oscar de la Renta and Badgley Mischka offered stunning shades of ecru. At Custo Barcelona, Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler there was a delicate mashing of prints and fabrics. These seemingly mismatched prints work perfectly together and will help you re-imagine the possibilities of your wardrobe.

Here are some of the best looks from NYFW. Next stop…London.

Fifty Shades of Red For Valentine’s Day

By Diana   |    February 14, 2015 4:10 pm    |   Accessories, Sales, Style, The Peacock Parade Blog   |    off

Happy Valentine’s Day! Whether or not you’re celebrating being in love with a special someone, love is in the air. Bouquets of flowers are being delivered and heart-shaped chocolate is flying off the shelves. There is one thing that can sum up the mood of Valentine’s Day – the colour red. Red roses, red velvet, red hearts, you name it.

So while we’re in the mood, we’re celebrating the fabulous red items currently on sale on The Peacock Parade. As for what to wear on your date night, may I suggest something crimson. A lady in red always gets noticed! Even if you’re on your way to a girls night at the movie theatre, you never know who you will bump in to!!

By Diana   |    February 9, 2015 7:37 pm    |   Best Dressed, Celebrity Looks, Couture, Events, Fashion News, Style, The Peacock Parade Blog   |    off

Sooooo what was that leather strap holding up Madonna’s butt? Why was Madonna flashing her butt anyway, knowing that she had that weird butt strap on? Oh the Grammy Awards were full of (fashion) surprises like Lady Gaga wearing a totally normal vegetarian dress. While the Grammys aren’t known for being the most fashionable – rock stars opt for leather versus couture…with some exceptions – here are some of the best dressed music makers from last night.

Treat Yo Self: The 5 Items You Need Right Now

By Diana   |    January 30, 2015 2:55 pm    |   Accessories, Gifts, Sales, Style, The Peacock Parade Blog   |    off

Canadian ladies, it is damn cold outside. You probably run from work to your car and then avoid being outside the rest of the time. Living in Toronto, I certainly don’t blame you. I’ve decided that because it’s winter you should “treat yo self”, just like Donna and Tom on NBC’s Parks and Recreation. While we suffer through winter, we certainly deserve a special item for it. I’m sure that concept is something you can get on board with.

Not sure what to treat yo self to? Here are some fabulous suggestions from The Peacock Parade.

This finely-crafted bag from Rebecca Minkoff is not only a delicious shade of red, it’s also large enough to carry your essentials. The sleek hardware and retro handle make this bag something to treat yo self to!
