From New York to London to Paris and finally, Milan, designers are debuting their fall/winter 2015 collections. There is just so much to look forward to. With so many looks to drool over, it’s hard to pick the best collections so far..but we’ll try.
Dolce & Gabbana paid homage to mothers everywhere. The brightly hued, floral-filled collection saw Italian and French phrases of “I love you, Mamma” and “For the most beautiful in the world” written in glitter across stunning dresses. They may not have paid taxes but Dolce & Gabbana sure adore their mothers.
Balenciaga went texture overload with furs and wools in classic patterns. Long skirts and Hitchcock vibes made this collection a real stand out with fashion lovers and critics.
Here are some of our favourite looks from this past week:
The weather is still pretty warm in Canada, considering it’s October, so it’s not that outlandish to be discussing cool clothes for spring 2015. In fact, this weather only makes us want them sooner and you’ll see why. Some of the greatest designers and fashion houses on Earth debuted their collections in Paris and Milan and we’re left swooning!Chanel, Valentino, Dior and every major label in between offered strong clothes for bold, powerful women.
At Chanel, designer Karl Lagerfeld dared to pair silver with gold. At Alexander McQueen there was a mixture of fabrics and patterns with fierce results. At Louis Vuitton, white and gauzy ruled the runway. The rest is just gravy. Enjoy!
Milan’s fashion week has already garnered a ton of gossip (grrr Katy Perry) and some of it is actually fashion related. Whether it was mesh, peek-a-boo styles or geometric patterns, Milan hasn’t disappointed.
At Prada and Dolce & Gabbana, vintage prints and streamlined, classic shapes made a huge impact. Several collections offered quirky styles, but more on that later.
Giorgio Armani and Emilio Pucci created highly textured pieces using fur and leather. Transparency and cut-outs are notable trends!
Last fall, navy was a key runway colour and it looks like it may continue its reign this season. Houses like Fendi just couldn’t get enough.

First it was New York Fashion Week, followed by London Fashion Week, then to Milan Fashion Week and currently Paris Fashion Week. While we’re still orienting ourselves with the fabulousness of fall, fashion’s A-list is finding out what designers have in store for spring 2014. Ahh, to be Anna Wintour!
From Gucci to Alexander Wang to Balenciaga, pastels and shiny fabrics are ruling the runways. Imagery and prints on fabric have also been seen on several catwalks, just check out looks from Prada and Dolce & Gabbana. Whatever your style, there’s something coming for everyone.
