We’ve been gushing and salivating over international Fall 2015 designer collections since mid February and now it’s time to focus on our domestic talent. World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto had Canadian designers showing off their stunning  ensembles. As years go on, Canadians designers are making their mark and demonstrating that they can make it on the international scene.

Take for instance, Mikhael Kale’s dreamy, pastel-infused collection or Malorie Urbanovitch’s mixture of fabric and colour. There’s no question that these looks can rank with the best in the world. Pink Tartan debuted a sleek collection with urban undertones, a little leather and plenty to love.

Here are some of our favourite outfits from Toronto Fashion Week!

Red Carpet Movie Premieres

Red carpets don’t end with the Oscars. There are plenty of high profile movies coming out, year round, that include fashion-filled premieres. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with Cinderella’s Lily James’ red carpet looks from various cities. Each one more magical than the next. She was perfectly cast as the beloved underdog and she sure cleans up nice when it’s time for a ball.

Cate Blanchett appeared at the original Cinderella premiere wearing this knockout Givenchy gown. This woman is a knockout no matter what red carpet she appears on.

Similarly, Insurgent’s Shailene Woodley. For the premiere, only days ago, she opted for a sexy black dress with plunging neckline. The dress was wowza…the movie, not so much.

Rounding out my favourite looks of late is the ever-fabulous Gwen Stefani, wearing a gorgeous polka dot number. That blonde hair and red lip will never go out of fashion.

Fashion Weeks Wrap Up

From New York to London to Paris and finally, Milan, designers are debuting their fall/winter 2015 collections. There is just so much to look forward to. With so many looks to drool over, it’s hard to pick the best collections so far..but we’ll try.

Dolce & Gabbana paid homage to mothers everywhere. The brightly hued, floral-filled collection saw Italian and French phrases of “I love you, Mamma” and “For the most beautiful in the world” written in glitter across stunning dresses. They may not have paid taxes but Dolce & Gabbana sure adore their mothers.

Balenciaga went texture overload with furs and wools in classic patterns. Long skirts and Hitchcock vibes made this collection a real stand out with fashion lovers and critics.

Here are some of our favourite looks from this past week:

Retro-glamour took centre stage at New York Fashion Week for the unveiling of the Fall/Winter 2015 collections. From hair and makeup featuring red lips and pompadour to structured ladylike silhouettes bringing back fond memories of the 1930s and 1940s.

Get ready for winter white and creamy beiges. Oscar de la Renta and Badgley Mischka offered stunning shades of ecru. At Custo Barcelona, Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler there was a delicate mashing of prints and fabrics. These seemingly mismatched prints work perfectly together and will help you re-imagine the possibilities of your wardrobe.

Here are some of the best looks from NYFW. Next stop…London.

The Grammys 2015 Best Dressed

By Diana   |    February 9, 2015 7:37 pm    |   Best Dressed, Celebrity Looks, Couture, Events, Fashion News, Style, The Peacock Parade Blog   |    off

Sooooo what was that leather strap holding up Madonna’s butt? Why was Madonna flashing her butt anyway, knowing that she had that weird butt strap on? Oh the Grammy Awards were full of (fashion) surprises like Lady Gaga wearing a totally normal vegetarian dress. While the Grammys aren’t known for being the most fashionable – rock stars opt for leather versus couture…with some exceptions – here are some of the best dressed music makers from last night.

Who was your favourite?
