Ah, award season is in full swing. While the rich and famous pat each other on the back and hand out awards, we watch for our favourites to win and hope to get a glimpse of upcoming fashion. Last night was the Critics’ Choice Award celebrating the best in film. These awards are not televised, but are just as important as the Oscars because the votes are coming from critics themselves.
Luckily there were myriad photographers to capture some fabulous fashion moments.
A big trend is to opt for lighter shades – either completely white or pale grays. We LOVE what Jessica Chastain, Leslie Mann and Marion Cotillard wore.
Emily Blunt wore the next biggest red carpet trend, which is, of course, red. The open shoulders and stunning beadwork make this dress a huge win.
Diane Kruger has yet to show up in a miss. This gown reminds me of a fabulous vacation dress! Take us with you, Diane.
It may only be a rumour, but George Clooney is said to have hired Giorgio Armani to design his tux for his upcoming nuptials to brainy and beautiful Amal Alamuddin. More importantly, what will the bride be wearing? She is considering a handful of designers, including frontrunner Oscar de la Renta. According to Women’s Wear Daily, Clooney and Alamuddin will be tying the knot in late September.

If you’re putting together a stylish look with your new items from The Peacock Parade, it’s important to finish it with perfect make-up. For Spring 2013, the season is all about soft pinks paired with neutral shades. The best part is that these shades can easily work with all skin tones and complexions and can go from day to night.
These are some of my favourite Spring 2013 cosmetic finds. Remember always balance your make-up with either a strong eye or a strong lip but never both.
Guerlain Meteorites get a pinkish makeover for Spring 2013. Use as a highlighter or soft powder over your foundation.
Tarte Girls Meets Gloss collection of lipgloss are the perfect lip toppers.
J’adore Dior’s Cherie Bow collection. It’s beautiful on the inside and out.
If you’re excited for the new Oz movie featuring Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis, Urban Decay is doing make-up two palettes from the new Oz movie representing the good witch and the bad witch. It’s adorable but witchcraft is not included.

Rumour has it that Drew Barrymore is looking to create a make up line that will be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart. Her CoverGirl contract ends in January and she’s confident that she can make a name for herself among affordable make up lines like Revlon and CoverGirl. Good luck!
