Canadian ladies, it is damn cold outside. You probably run from work to your car and then avoid being outside the rest of the time. Living in Toronto, I certainly don’t blame you. I’ve decided that because it’s winter you should “treat yo self”, just like Donna and Tom on NBC’s Parks and Recreation. While we suffer through winter, we certainly deserve a special item for it. I’m sure that concept is something you can get on board with.
Not sure what to treat yo self to? Here are some fabulous suggestions from The Peacock Parade.
This finely-crafted bag from Rebecca Minkoff is not only a delicious shade of red, it’s also large enough to carry your essentials. The sleek hardware and retro handle make this bag something to treat yo self to!
Adia Kibur’s ultra lux necklace is a statement all on its own. Pair this with a simple outfit and let it pop, or pile on the jewels like royalty.
What time is it, Mr. Wolf? Time to get a rosegold watch from Movado. Rosegold is so hot right now because it matches almost everything is isn’t as harshly yellow as gold. This watch is elegant and worth every penny.
Forget 50 Shades of Grey and create your own romantic evening in this sexy set from Sokoloff. Designed with women’s curves in mind, this lingerie set raise some eyebrows. It will arrive just in time for Valentine’s Day!
Take some cues from the red carpet and treat yourself to dangling earrings that will add mega interest to your favourite outfit.
Ah, award season is in full swing. While the rich and famous pat each other on the back and hand out awards, we watch for our favourites to win and hope to get a glimpse of upcoming fashion. Last night was the Critics’ Choice Award celebrating the best in film. These awards are not televised, but are just as important as the Oscars because the votes are coming from critics themselves.
Luckily there were myriad photographers to capture some fabulous fashion moments.
A big trend is to opt for lighter shades – either completely white or pale grays. We LOVE what Jessica Chastain, Leslie Mann and Marion Cotillard wore.
Emily Blunt wore the next biggest red carpet trend, which is, of course, red. The open shoulders and stunning beadwork make this dress a huge win.
Diane Kruger has yet to show up in a miss. This gown reminds me of a fabulous vacation dress! Take us with you, Diane.
First I want to say that I’m not much into award shows. I watch them for the red carpet and then for the opening monologues. In this case, two of my favourite human women, Amy Poehler and Tiny Fey were stellar as hosts. They didn’t pull any punches, especially where Bill Cosby was concerned, but I digress. As for the fashion portion, the stars did not disappoint…well maybe one or two did, but who cares?
It was hot in Los Angeles and apparently the A.C. wasn’t working at the venue, which is why some of your favourite celebs seemed a little shiny. Despite that, there were some pretty awesome fashion choices. I loved Emma Stone’s Lanvin jumpsuit, she looked so sleek and Sienna Miller’s Miu Miu gown was to die for. Here are some of the best looks of the evening.
