Only 6 more days left!!! On Thursday, September 6, 2012, from 6pm – 11pm, Fashion’s Night Out will take over the globe and millions of people will shop ’til they drop. As you know, Canada is participating this year (YAY!) so make sure you check the FNO website to see if a city near you is taking part. Chisel your credit cards from the block of ice in your freezer and help boost the economy…and get some great new fall pieces at the same time.
On Monday, September 3rd, The Peacock Parade will be selling official Fashion’s Night Out merchandise. The designs were created specifically for 2012. Commemorate our first FNO and show your support by purchasing fun t-shirts for men and women and canvas unisex bags. They’re so chic!
Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter @PeacockParade and Like Us on Facebook for more FNO details.
Although we’re all having a hard time bidding adieu to summer 2012, I hope that fall fashion is keeping chins up. But what we’re experiencing now is that awkward in between stage – the nights are cooler but days are still warm. So before we leap into fall, we have to baby step our way through what I like to call, “sumall”.
The easiest way to transition to fall is to use layering pieces. Anything that can be seamlessly added to an outfit or removed when necessary is what you need. Cardigans, scarves, light-weight tops and vests are essentials. If you’re wearing a sleeveless shift dress throw a sweater over your shoulders (à la Anna Wintour) and you can whip it on if you’re cold. Adding fabrics that are lighter in weight but have longer sleeves is another transitional must. The Peacock Parade is offering some perfect transitional pieces so be sure to visit the site to get yours.

After silently (or not so silently) longing for Fashion’s Night Out to hit Canadian streets, fashion lovers and shopaholics in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal can finally rejoice. That’s right, these select cities in Canada will be participating in FNO on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 6pm – 11pm. Cities across the globe will be celebrating FNO on the same day, ultimately creating a giant fashion community.
What is FNO? Fashion’s Night Out is a late-night shopping event. It was started in New York City during the 2008 recession to encourage people to shop and put money back into the economy. Since then it has become an event that boosts the economy, while also giving fashionistas a chance to have a ton of fun. We deserve a night of our own. After all, the guys get the Stanley Cup finals and the Superbowl, right?
There couldn’t be a fashion event in Toronto, without The Peacock Parade. For Toronto’s Fashion Night Out, The Peacock Parade are one of many fabulous sponsors for the night. Follow @PeacockParade and @FNO_Toronto and visit the blog for more details.
I’m so excited!!!
