“Doesn’t the Guess logo kind of look like Gucci’s and isn’t Gucci mad about it?” I’ve been whispering this sentiment for years. Finally, three years ago, Gucci said enough is enough and decided to take Guess to court. This week the case is going to trial since no settlement could be achieved. Gucci believes that Guess has been using block letter “G”s and green and red stripes on handbags and accessories, which is signature to the Italian fashion house.
According to Vogue UK, Gucci attorney Louis Ederer stated that this case is not about fashion trends but rather, “a massive, complicated scheme to knock off Gucci’s best-known and iconic designs.” May 9 will mark the third year of this case. The newer twist in this G-filled drama is that Gucci wants Guess to pay them any profits made off of Gucci look-a-like items.
Guess, of course, has vehemently denied all of these allegations. What do you think? Do you think Guess purposely copied Gucci to sell more items or is it all just one big misunderstanding?

Orange is huge for Spring/Summer 2012! There’s no denying it. Almost every designer included orange in their collections as a main focus like a dress or with little accents like orange accessories. If you’re not a fan of orange or don’t think it can work on you, have no fear. There are plenty of shades of orange available and there’s at least one that will flatter your complexion. Bright tangerine to burnt orange to a rust – try them all and see what works.
Here’s a selection of some of my favourite orange looks from international runways.
Keep an eye out for vibrant orange items that will be available on The Peacock Parade’s upcoming sales!

For a second spring in a row, wearing all white is all the rage. There’s a freshness and brightness to it that no other colour can beat. If white seems too stark you can always go wear an off white or ecrue colour that offers a little more pigment.
Whether it’s a white trouser or summery dress with eyelets, nothing embraces the warm weather better. Just be careful when handling red wine while wearing your favourite white ensemble! If you’re nervous about wearing white on your bottom half, keep the all-white theme up top. Throw on a white tank and matching white cardigan.
